Submission Details
Films must be shot entirely on a mobile device and deliver a strong, compelling story. We’re looking for work that feels intentional, not accidental. Strong characters, clear ideas, and smart use of sound and visuals matter more than expensive gear.
Official Selections will be screened on the big screen at SoFT Cinema, Falmouth University Campus, as part of the festival programme, alongside workshops, talks, and filmmaker Q&As.
Festival Rules and Entry Requirements
Mobile-only: All footage must be captured entirely on a smartphone or mobile device. (Any model is welcome.)
Maximum length: Films must be no longer than 10 minutes, including credits.
Genre and style: Any genre is welcome, as long as it tells a clear story or communicates a strong creative idea.
Original work: Submissions must be original and created by the entrant (or entrant’s team) and must not infringe on copyright. If you use music, archive footage, images, or templates, you must have the rights to use them.
Audio quality: Dialogue, music, and sound design should be clear and intentional. If we can’t hear it, we can’t judge it properly.
AI in film: AI tools may be used to support your process (e.g., planning, ideation, graphics, marketing assets), but the final film must remain creator-led and must not break copyright or consent rules.
Language: Films in any language are welcome. If the dialogue is not in English, please provide English subtitles.
Content: No hateful, discriminatory, or exploitative content. Be bold, but be responsible.
Delivery format: Submit in a standard digital format (MP4 recommended) in HD or higher, suitable for cinema screening.
